Privacy policy

Short version: we collect only what you choose to send us, use it only to respond to you, and never sell it.

What we collect

  • What you send us. When you use the contact form, the Ask Mike box, or chat with Max, we receive your name, email address, your role if you choose one, your message, and the page you sent it from.
  • Calculator inputs stay on your device. The lifetime limit calculator runs entirely in your browser. The dates, pay, and other figures you enter are not sent to us.
  • Basic technical data. To block spam, our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, and we keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address to limit repeated submissions. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may also keep standard server logs.

Max, the AI assistant

Max is an AI chat assistant. Your questions are sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, to generate answers, and the conversation is saved so Mike can see what visitors ask. To keep chatting after your first question, Max asks for your name and email; that, like the contact form, is used only to respond to you. Max's answers are generated automatically, can be wrong, and are general education only, not tax, legal, investment, or actuarial advice. Please don't share sensitive personal information such as Social Security or account numbers in the chat.

We don't use advertising trackers or sell, rent, or share your information for marketing.

How we use it

We use your information to answer your question or respond to your request, and to keep a record of that conversation. If you ask for a proposal, we may contact you about it by email or phone.

Where it is kept

Messages and chat conversations are stored in a private database hosted by Cloudflare, and form messages and new chat contacts are forwarded to Mike's email inbox. Only Mike can access them.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete what you sent by replying to any email from us or by using the contact form.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
